•Dilated vessels that occur at gastric cardia, fundus, body or antrum (GEV1, GEV2,IGV1, IGV2)
•Causes: increased portal pressure. The varices may rupture, causing hemorrhage and shock
•Management:
-Octreotide (Sandostatin)
